[ARCHIVED] Pennsylvania man charged with Felony Heroin Trafficking and other drug charges.

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Monday, July 27, 2020, deputies assigned to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team were patrolling on Interstate 77 North in the area of Mile Marker 65, when they conducted a traffic stop on a rental vehicle with West Virginia Registration Plates for traffic violations.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputies spoke with the driver, Clifton Leinielle Meade, who told the deputies he was traveling from Atlanta, Georgia to Pennsylvania. During the course of the traffic stop, marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia were observed in plain view inside of the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, and 25.3 grams of Heroin, and marijuana were located along with additional items of drug paraphernalia.

Clifton Meade was arrested without incident. He was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with; Felony Trafficking Heroin by Possession, Felony Trafficking Heroin by Transportation, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Heroin, Felony Maintain a Vehicle for Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor No Operators License.

Meade appeared before Magistrate T. Thompson who issued a 250,000.00 dollar secured bond on these charges.
