Recently, we have received several questions from our Concealed Carry Permit Holders and other members of the community about whether wearing a mask to protect yourself from the COVID-19 Virus while legally carrying concealed violates the law.
Some individuals site North Carolina General Statute 14-12.8. This statute refers to wearing a mask of the purpose of concealing one’s identity.
Our attorney has researched this issue and we can assure you, there is no General Statute prohibiting you from wearing a mask to protect yourself from the virus and legally carrying concealed.
We hope this clears up any disinformation, which may be circulating in the community. As always, if you have any questions about Carrying Concealed or any other firearms questions, please call us at 704-878-3180.
