In recognition of Peace Officers Memorial Week, the men and women of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office paused this morning, Thursday, May 14, 2020 as we laid wreaths at the graves of Sheriff Godfrey Kimball and two fallen deputies, Deputy Cloaninger, and Deputy John Miller. These men gave the ultimate measure in the performance of their duties to the citizens of Iredell County.

We honor and remember,

Sheriff Godfrey Click Kimball, killed in the line of duty. Died Friday, August 17, 1934.

Deputy Sheriff Robert Lloyd Cloaninger killed in the line of duty. Died Sunday, August 3, 1919.

Deputy Sheriff John H. Miller killed in the line of duty. Died Saturday, June 30, 1917.

Gone, but never forgotten.
