Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a breaking and entering call in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 23, 202 at 580 Williamson Road near Mooresville.
When the deputies arrived, they determined the suspect had broken into the residence while the homeowner had taken his wife to work. Prescription medications, tools, and cash were noted as items having been taken from the residence.
During the course of the investigation, and after interviews with witnesses and the victims, detectives were able to identify, Jack Allen Leatherman, as the suspect in this case. Leatherman is a friend of the victim and was at the residence prior to the break in.
Based on evidence gathered throughout the investigation, sheriff’s office detectives were able to obtain warrants on Leatherman.
On Thursday, March 19, 2020 Leatherman was taken into custody, and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. Leatherman was charged with; Felony Breaking and Entering, and Felony Larceny after Breaking, and Entering. Magistrate D. Chambers issued a 5,000.00 dollar secured bond on these charges.
