[ARCHIVED] Month long Narcotics investigation leads to arrest

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated:
A month long investigation by members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit resulted in the arrest of two suspects on Friday July 31, 2015.
This investigation began when information was gathered by investigators about heroin and prescription pills being sold in Western Iredell County. By employing various investigative techniques, undercover detectives were able to identify John Ross Shoaf and Nicholas Dale Johnson as persons of interest.
Undercover hand to hand purchases were made from Shoaf on various occasions.
John Shoaf was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with eight felony charges. Two counts of Felony Trafficking Opium or Heroin. One Felony Count of Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Sch. II. One Felony Count of Sell and Deliver Sch. II (Oxycodone). One Felony Count of Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Sch. IV. One Felony Count of Sell and Deliver Sch. IV. (Alprazolam). One Felony Count of Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Counterfeit Controlled Substance. One Felony Count of Sell or Deliver Counterfeit Controlled Substance.
He was placed under 250,000.00 dollars secured bond. Shoaf is currently on supervised probation in Iredell County.
Nicholas Dale Johnson was taken into custody at another location in Iredell County by members of the Warrant Squad. Nicholas Johnson was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with one felony count of Obtaining Property by False Pretense. He was placed under 2500.00 secured bond. Further charges and arrests are expected as the investigation continues
