Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Sunday, January 12, 2020, deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received an alarm call from 2135 Charlotte Highway in Mooresville.

Upon their arrival, the deputies observed one of the front doors had been broken into. The deputies immediately conducted a security sweep of the business, however no one was located inside or in the immediate area. The business owner arrived and informed deputies it appeared the only items missing were lottery tickets. 

Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, William Joseph Feldman was quickly developed as a suspect. Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Detectives were able to obtain arrest warrants for Feldman on Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering, and Five Counts of Felony Obtain Property by False Pretense.  The 5 counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense are a result of some of the stolen lottery tickets being cashed in at various locations shortly after the breaking and entering.

On Monday, January 13, 2020, deputies located William Joseph Feldman operating a vehicle on Charlotte Highway near Shinnville Road. Deputies recognized Feldman from suspect information which had been distributed about his outstanding warrants. Feldman was arrested after a traffic stop. He was then transported to the Iredell County Jail where he was served with seven warrants, he was also issued a citation for Driving While License Revoked. Feldman received a 25,000.00 dollar secured bond from Magistrate J. Hollar.
