[ARCHIVED] Suspect charged with sex offense with a child and indecent liberties with a child.

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received a report in reference to the sexual abuse of a child by a family member. The victim was seven years old at the time the abuse occurred in 2005.
The case was assigned to Det. Sgt. C. M. Benfield with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit. The victim was interviewed at the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center and a forensic interview was completed.
During the interview, the victim disclosed that while living in Western Iredell County, during 2005, he was sexually abused by Rebecca Bost at her residence. The victim stated that the sexual abuse occurred in Iredell County as well as at an address inside the city of Statesville.
After interviewing witnesses and conducting further investigation, Detective Benfield obtained warrants against Bost for one count of Sex Offense with a Child and one count of Indecent Liberties with a Child. Bost was served with the warrants and placed under a $100,000.00 secure bond. She currently in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $200,000.00 bond, which includes charges from the Statesville Police Department.
