Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: An additional suspect has been identified and charged in connection with a home invasion which occurred on Thursday, December 26, 2019 on Calico Lane near Statesville.
Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Detectives charged, Lucas Bryan Coulbourn, on the date of the incident, and continued the investigation based on evidence of at least one other person being involved.
During the investigation detectives were able to locate information placing Shannon Diane Grant, in Statesville around the area at the time the original crimes took place. Grant is Lucas Coulbourn’s mother.
As detectives continued the investigation they were able to recover stolen silver coins at a home in Conover, North Carolina. Shannon Diane Grant had taken the stolen coins to the home where she asked the homeowner keep them for her.
Based on all the witness statements and evidence gathered during the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained on Shannon Diane Grant for her involvement.
On Monday, January 6, 2019, Grant was arrest in Hickory without incident. She was transported back to the Iredell County Detention Center where she was served with the following charges; First Degree Burglary, Felony Robbery with a Danger Weapon, First Degree Kidnapping, Two Counts of Felony Safe Cracking, Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, and 11 Counts of Identity Theft.
Shannon Diane Grant was taken before Iredell County Magistrate P. Tutterrow who issued a 500,000.00 dollar secured bond on these charges.
Lucas Bryan Coulbourn is currently in the Iredell County Detention Center on the same charges. Coulbourn currently has No Bond on his charges.
