[ARCHIVED] Winston-Salem convicted felon charged with additional drug, and weapons charges.

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Cherokee which was traveling on Interstate 77 Southbound near the 56 Mile Marker for traffic violations.

When the deputies approached the Jeep and spoke with the driver about the traffic violation. While speaking with Terrez Dawan Weaks, deputies noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle.

The deputies conducted a search of the Jeep. They located 25 grams of marijuana packaged to sale, digital scales, a loaded .380 caliber Ruger handgun, and 6,141.00 dollars in cash.

While running Weaks criminal history, information was located showing Weaks is a convicted felon for prior narcotics related crimes.

Terrez Weaks was arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with: Felony Possession of Marijuana, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Magistrate D. Saunders issued Weaks a 20,000.00 dollar secured bond, and given a court date set for Thursday, December 5, 2019 in Statesville.
