Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Saturday, November 30, 2019, Deputy J. Young of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Community Oriented Policing (COPS) Unit, responded to 290 Judas Road in Mooresville in reference to a larceny which had occurred.
Upon his arrival, Deputy Young spoke with the victim who advised the garage to the residence had been broken into, and a large amount of tools had been stolen.
The victim further told Deputy Young about Matthew David Suzelis and his girlfriend, Grace Luella Wetmore being responsible by their own admission. The victim then provided Deputy Young with pawn slips which had been given to him Matthew Suzelis.
The pawn slips proved both Matthew, and Grace had pawned the stolen tools at various pawn shops in, and around Iredell, and Rowan Counties.
Detectives Bath, and Dixson located Matthew Suzelis, and Grace Wetmore and were able to gain statements from the suspects about their involvement in three breaking and entering’s.
Matthew Suzelis, and Grace Wetmore were taken into custody and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. Matthew David Suzelis was charged with: Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering, and two counts of Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense. He was issued a 15,000.00 dollar secured bond by Magistrate R Imes on these charges.
Grace Wetmore was charged with: Felony Breaking and Entering, and Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering. Grace was issued a 10,000.00 dollar secured bond also by Magistrate R. Imes.
