[ARCHIVED] Convicted Felon charged with Possession With Intent to Sell Cocaine

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Wednesday, October 23, 2019 members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigations Unit along with members of the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team executed a narcotics search warrant at 124 Boundary Lane in Harmony, concluding a month long investigation into the distribution of “Crack” cocaine in the community.

Narcotics investigators had received complaints about Anthony Richard Rivers selling large amounts of “Crack” cocaine at his residence, located at 124 Boundary Lane. Based on this information, they initiated an investigation.

Once the information was verified, narcotics investigators were able to purchase “Crack” cocaine directly from Rivers on several occasions at his residence during the course of the investigation.

When the search warrant was executed, investigators located 8.04 grams of “Crack”, along with powder cocaine, and Marijuana.

Rivers was arrested on scene and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was charged with: Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule II Controlled                       Substance (Cocaine), Felony Maintaining a Dwelling, Vehicle or Place to Use or Sell Controlled Substances, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Anthony Richard Rivers was taken before Magistrate D. Sanders who issued him a 15,000.00 dollars secured bond on these charges.

Criminal history: Five Counts of Felony Sell or Deliver Cocaine, Felony Sell or Deliver Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Four Counts of Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, DWI Level 4, DWI Level 2, Two Counts of Misdemeanor Assault on a Governmental Official, Two Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer, Misdemeanor Intoxicated and Disruptive, Three Counts of DWI Level 1, Felony Elude Arrest in a Motor Vehicle with 2 Aggravating Factors, Three Counts of Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule II (Cocaine), and Felony Habitual Impaired Driving.
