The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce two training opportunities for our community.
We will be offering our Third Community Citizen’s Response to Active Shooter Situation Class. This class will be offered on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 9:00 am until 11:30 am. The class will be held at the Iredell County Government Center South located at 610 East Center Avenue, Mooresville.
We saw these types of events as a major threat several years ago. This is why we have developed this class, to give our community members valuable information on how to keep you, your family, and friend’s safe.
This class will cover ways to avoid the situation, how to deny access to you by the shooter, and how to defend yourself in an active shooter situation. We will then discuss the investigative process in the aftermath of such an event. This course is free to the public.
Secondly, we will also hold our Annual Fall Citizen’s Academy. This class will run from Tuesday, October 7, 2019 until Tuesday, October 28, 2019. This class will meet at the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Training Center located at 435 Monticello Road in Statesville. These classes will be held from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm on Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. These classes are designed to give people a behind the scenes look at the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, as well as to provide a hands on experience in several areas of law enforcement. This course is also free to the public.
If you are interested in participating in one, or both of these courses, please email Sheriff Darren Campbell at decampbell@co.iredell.nc.us or Captain Bill Hamby at whamby@co.iredell.nc.us or you can call 704-878-3180 and ask for Sheriff Campbell or Captain Hamby.
