Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on July 13, 2015 at approximately 11:00 a.m. a victim reported to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office that on May 28, 2015 his vehicle was broken into at his residence on Foster Road in Rowan County. The victim reported that his checkbook and a firearm were stolen during that breaking and entering. The victim reported that one of his checks were passed in Harmony on June 18, 2015 at 8:22 p.m. The check was written for $384.00 and the female obtained groceries and cash back. There was a second check that was written for $385.00 and was attempted to be passed at a different establishment in Harmony on three separate occasions: 06/23/2015, 06/29/2015 and 07/10/2015. The suspect was driving a light in color GMC Yukon. Detectives working the investigation obtained video of the female who was passing the checks.
The female’s photograph was put out to the public, and The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls from citizens who identified the woman as Heather Leann Parsons of Crater Road Harmony. Heather Parsons was located and during an interview admitted to passing the checks at the two establishments. Parsons was charged with Obtaining Property by False Pretenses and Attempted Obtaining Property by False Pretenses in which she was confined in the Iredell County Jail on July 22, 2015 under a $4,000.00 secured bond.
On behalf of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, I would like to thank each and every person that called in to help assist in identifying Heather Leann Parsons.
