Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: A Charlotte man was arrested on Saturday August 17, 2019 after an extensive investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division was concluded.
Dondi Christopher Hancock, was taken into custody in Mooresville by Iredell County Narcotics Detectives with assistance from the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team, and the Community Oriented Policing (COPS) Unit.
The initial investigation began in July when Narcotics Detectives received information from concerned citizens in reference to Hancock selling illegal narcotics, specifically crack cocaine, in the Mooresville area.
Detectives began an investigation into the complaint, which included surveillance, along with the utilization of an undercover detective. During the investigation, an undercover detective was able to meet with Hancock on two separate occasions, and purchase crack cocaine directly from him.
On the afternoon of Saturday August 17, Hancock had arranged to meet with the undercover detective again in the Langtree Road area of Mooresville. Detectives had information Hancock could possibly in possession of more cocaine. Once Hancock was on scene, he was arrested and taken into custody by Deputies without incident.
Hancock was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with: Two Counts of Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Cocaine, Two Counts of Felony Sell or Deliver Cocaine, Two Counts of Felony Maintaining a Vehicle for Controlled Substance, and Felony Conspire to Sell or Deliver Cocaine. Hancock was given a 75,000.00 dollar secured bond by Magistrate T. Thompson.
Hancock currently has separate pending charges in Iredell County for Felony Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana. Hancock also has pending charges in Mecklenburg County for Misdemeanor Larceny, Conspiracy and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
