Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: In the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 30, 2019, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received an alarm at 933 Oakridge Farm Highway near Mooresville.
Deputy D. Souther responded to the location. When he arrived he saw a vehicle attempting to drive away from the business in the grass near EF Belk & Sons Electric. Deputy Souther stopped the vehicle in the parking lot near the business. The vehicle was operated by Jonathan Derek Hager.
Detectives and Crime Scene Detectives were called to the scene to assist in the investigation of the incident. A search of Hager’s vehicle located copper wire which had been stolen from the business in the trunk.
Hager was arrested and on scene. He was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with: Two Counts of Felony Breaking & Entering Motor Vehicles, Two Counts of Misdemeanor Larceny, and Misdemeanor First Degree Trespass. Magistrate S. Nicholson issued Hager a 10,000.00 dollars secured bond for these charges.
Hager was previously charged in September 2011 for five counts of Felony Breaking and Entering to Motor Vehicle, five Counts of Felony Larceny, and Misdemeanor First Degree Trespassing to the same business.
