Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that on July 18th Deputy Jody Johnson was on patrol in the area of Highway 70 when he stopped an out of state silver Pontiac Montana minivan for a seat belt violation. The driver and passenger were then identified as Aubrey Dobrzeniecki and Benjamin Shilander of Ohio. Both who were traveling from Florida heading back to Ohio. After further speaking with both subjects Deputy Johnson found that Mrs. Dobrzeniecki was in possession of an Amphetamine pill contained inside an orange pill bottle inside of the vehicle. Mr. Shilander was also found to be in possession of a clear plastic bag containing 5.3 grams of marijuana, an open container of alcohol and two cut straws with powder residue. A further search of the vehicle was conducted By Deputy Johnson and Statesville Police Officer Humprey. Inside the trunk area of the vehicle Officer Humprey located another bag of marijuana containing 5.9 grams of marijuana and $53.00 in U.S. currency.
Mrs. Dobrzeniecki was arrested and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center for maintaining a vehicle with felony controlled substance, simple possession of schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia her bond was set at $3,000.00 secured.
Mr. Shilander was also arrested and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center for possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia other than marijuana and for having an open container of alcohol. Mr. Shilanders bond was set at $4,000.00 secured.
