[ARCHIVED] Convicted felon charged again with drug crimes.

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Monday, April 15, 2019 the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit along with members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office SERT Team, and Patrol Deputies executed a narcotics search warrant at 134 Mills Hill Lane ending a month long investigation.

Narcotics investigators had received information about Charles Edward Mills aka “Chucky” was “still involved” in the distribution of controlled substances from the residence. Undercover investigators were able to conduct surveillance operations identifying Mills as a suspect. In addition they were able to purchase amounts of “Crack” cocaine from the residence.

Sheriff Campbell added Mills was involved in a similar type investigation in June of 2018. In the 2018 investigation Mills, and others who were present at the residence during the execution of a search warrant were found to be in possession of “Crack” cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, and prescription pills.

Charles Edward Mills was arrested in June of 2018 and charged with Felony Maintain a Dwelling/Vehicle for Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell or Deliver (Cocaine), Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana), and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia all of which are still pending in court.

As a result of this current investigation, 5.2 Grams of “Crack” cocaine, and 650.00 dollars were seized from the residence. Mills was arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver “Crack” Cocaine and Felony Maintaining a Dwelling/Vehicle or Place to Sell Controlled Substance. Mills was taken before Magistrate S. Watkins who issued a 20,000.00 dollar secured bond for these charges.

 Criminal history: Misdemeanor Larceny, Two Counts of DWI, DWI Level 2, Felony Trafficking Cocaine, Five Counts of Felony Sell Cocaine.
