While searching the area deputies were able to use information gathered to secure warrants on Gene Lee Greer Jr. A short time later, the suspect was taken into custody in Alexander County.

Deputies transported Greer the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with the following arrest warrants: Felony Larceny of a Firearm, Felony Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, and Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Magistrate T. Thompson issued Greer a 200,000.00 dollars secure bond on these charges.
