[ARCHIVED] Solid Waste policy on acceptance of storm related vegetative debris

IREDELL COUNTY SOLID WASTE

354 Twin Oaks Road

Statesville, NC 28625

704-878-5430

Date: October 26, 2018

Subject: Acceptance of storm related vegetative debris

The Iredell County Solid Waste Facility will discontinue free disposal of oversized debris (over 8 feet in length and/or over 8 inches in diameter) as of Friday November 9, 2018. Any vegetative debris brought in after that date of that size will be deemed Land Clearing and Inert Debris Material and will be assessed a fee of $37 per ton. We urge you to inform your customers of this so they may complete cleanup operations before the fee reinstatement. As an alternative, we urge you to make arrangements to haul to permitted LCID landfills in the area. This will result in a much lower fee compared to using our facility. We will continue to accept small brush, limbs and yard waste at no charge. Please note that mixed loads (those containing oversize material along with brush, limbs or yard waste) will be charged for the weight of the entire load at our normal fee.
