[ARCHIVED] Statesville man charged with Indecent Liberties with a Child

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Friday September 14, 2018 a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office in reference to possible sexual assault involving a 5 year old victim.  The victim disclosed the abuse happened while being at 121 Bobby’s Loop, Statesville. The case was assigned to Detective Sergeant J. Lowrance of the Special Victims Unit for further investigation.


During the course of the investigation the victim was interviewed and identified Ernest Todd Mudd as the suspect in this case. Based on interviews and statements gathered in the investigation, investigators were able to obtain one Felony Arrest Warrant for Indecent Liberties with a Child on Mudd. 


Ernest Todd Mudd was arrested on Thursday October 4, 2018 and was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with one Count of Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child.  Ernest Todd Mudd received a 50,000.00 dollar secured bond from Magistrate R. Imes.
