[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested for Breaking & Entering & Larceny

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Breaking & Entering, Larceny incident on Tammy Drive in Mooresville on May 11, 2015. The victim advised that numerous items of jewelry were stolen from inside her residence. There was no forced entry to the home and due to the victim having several dogs inside the residence she believed that the suspect was someone known to the victim. During the investigation a possible suspect named Chris Martin was developed. Martin is someone who is a friend to the victim and who in the past had access to the home. During the investigation Detectives discovered that James Christopher Martin sold some of the stolen jewelry to two local gold establishments on four different occasions during the month of April. Based on the totality of all the evidence James Martin was charged with Breaking & Entering, Felony Larceny and four counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. James Martin was arrested and received a $6,000.00 secured bond and his court date is set for August 20, 2015.
