Sherriff Darren Campbell stated that the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office responded to Dollar General #10914, 610 Mocksville Highway in Statesville, for a larceny. The offender(s) were a white male and a white female. The female handed the male some items and the male also picked items from the shelf in which he concealed in his back pants pocket and down inside his pants. The female distracted the cashier by asking for the key to the restroom while the male exited the store. The store manager chased after the male and he returned the items from his back pockets. However, he denied having any further items. After watching the video surveillance the store manager saw what all was taken and realized not everything was returned. The stolen items consisted of two bottles of body wash, a bottle of body lotion and a box of tampons for a total value of $14.75. The female denied knowing the male and stated that she came to the store by herself. However, she was then observed getting into the vehicle, a white Pontiac, with the male offender and they left the premises. The license plate was obtained and the vehicle was registered to Amanda Gayle Lawson. After watching the video surveillance both offenders were clearly identified as Amanda Gayle Lawson and Kenneth Brian Stiltner. Both Amanda Lawson and Kenneth Stiltner were charged with misdemeanor larceny.
