Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Thursday July 19, 2018 a call was received by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office about a domestic violence incident in the area of Hobbs Lane in Mooresville.
When the deputies arrived they located the caller and she told them a Donald Lee Beaver had been at her home and he had assaulted her earlier. She also told them she believed the suspect had walked to her home and may possibly be in a wooded area near by.
A perimeter was established and canine teams and aerial drones were called the location in an attempt to locate Beaver.
A short time later, information was received by a community member who stated the suspect was now in a truck and guided deputies to the truck’s location. A traffic stop on the truck was initiated at the intersection of Ridge Bluff Road and High Bluff Circle.
The suspect, Donald Beaver, jumped out of the passenger side door and ran. A short foot occurred and ended with Beaver being taken into custody.
Donald Lee Beaver was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with numerous warrants for: Three Counts of Felony Breaking and Entering, Three Counts of Felony Larceny, Three Counts of Misdemeanor Larceny, Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Three Counts of Felony Possession Stolen Goods, Three Misdemeanor Counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resist Obstruct or Delay of an Officer, Two Counts of Misdemeanor Failure to Appear in Court and a Probation Violation.
These charges stem from investigations conducted by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, Mooresville Police Department, Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, Surry County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina Probation and Parole and the Statesville Police Department.
Magistrate T. Thompson issued Beaver a 195,000.00 dollar secured bond in these matters.
