Sheriff Darren E. Campbell stated: The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office had received numerous complaints from citizens about the amount of vehicle traffic, large numbers of people and possible drug sales at 1826 Old Mocksville Road.
The information was assigned to the Narcotics Investigations Unit. Surveillance operations were established on the residence and detectives quickly verified the large amount of activity at the residence.
On Tuesday May 8, 2018 narcotics detectives approached the residence and were able to speak with Nicole Ruth Mahaffey. After speaking with her and discussing the allegations against her and the residence, detectives were allowed to search the residence.
Once inside the home, detectives located 11 grams of methamphetamine hidden on a vent in a bathroom, a glass jar filled with marijuana. Inside the jar they located 4.8 grams of Hydrocodone pills.
Nicole Ruth Mahaffey was taken into custody and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where she was charged with: Felony Trafficking Opium, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana. Magistrate P. Tutterrow issued Mahaffey a 200,000.00 dollar secured bond on these charges.
