Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Friday April 20, 2018 a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office in reference to possible sexual assault involving an 8 year old female victim. The victim disclosed the abuse happened while living on Yellowstone between April 1, 2012 and July 2, 2014 at the victim’s and suspect’s home.
The case was assigned to Detective Sergeant J. Lowrance of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit for further investigation. During the course of the investigation the victim was interviewed at the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center where Donald Robert Rhoades II was identified as the suspect in the case and also disclosed there was another male juvenile victim.
Based on interviews and statements gathered in the investigation, investigators were able to obtain multiple felony warrants on Donald Robert Rhoades II.
Rhoades was arrested on May 5, 2018 and was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where three felony warrants were served on him for Felony First Degree Sex Offense with a Child. Donald Rhoades II received a 250,000.00 secured bond from Magistrate M. Nethken. Two of the charges were for the juvenile female and one was for the juvenile male victim.
Donald Rhoades II was placed on the Sex Offender Registry for a 2005 conviction in South Carolina for Felony Committing Lewd Act upon a Child under 16.
