Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Saturday December 30, 2017 a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a child being sexually assaulted by a family member. 

The child stated she was sexually assaulted on multiple occasions between August 2017 and December, 2017, by Robert Mark Moose, of 126 Moore Farm Lane, Mooresville.

The report was assigned to Detective Patrick Dixson of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit.  During the investigation into these allegations, another victim was identified.  The second victim reported she had been sexually assaulted by Moose, on multiple occasions between November 2001 and February 2005. 

As a result of the investigation, Robert Mark Moose was charged with 12 counts of Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child, 10 counts of Felony Statutory Rape of a Child by Adult, and 2 counts of Felony Statutory Rape/Sexual Offense with a Child.  

Moose was arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with the warrants and given a $1,500,000.00 dollars secure bond by Magistrate A. Tutterow.
