Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On January 30, 2018, a resident came to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office to report a gun had been stolen from her residence. The victim stated the gun was a Taurus model 85CHSS 38 caliber revolver. It had been stolen between September 2017 and November 2017.
During the investigation it was discovered, Jonathan Wesley Holland was the suspect in this matter. Detectives with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office presented the evidence gathered from their investigation and were able to obtain warrants for the suspect for Felony Larceny of a Firearm and Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
On Thursday February 1, 2018 the sheriff’s office received information about the suspect being seen at his residence. Several deputies and detectives responded the suspect’s residence located at 207 Ledgehill Road in eastern Iredell County to attempt to serve the arrest warrants.
When detectives knocked on the door to the residence, movement could be heard from inside the residence. The suspect barricaded the front door of the residence to prohibit entry. Detectives obtained a key to the back door of the residence from family members. When detectives tried to unlock the back door, the suspect would hold the lock to prohibit officers from entering the residence.
The suspect stated that he wasn’t going to come out of the residence and surrender to officers. Forcible entry was then made to the residence, after entry was made to the residence the suspect was located in the master bedroom and was taken into custody without further incident.
Jonathan Wesley Holland was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with Felony Larceny of a Firearm and Felony Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Holland was given a 75,000.00 dollars secured bond by Magistrate Reba Imes. While at the Iredell County Detention Center, Jonathan Holland’s probation officer served several probation violation warrants. Holland was then again taken back before Magistrate Reba Imes where he received an additional $55,000.00 secured bond. Holland received a total of 130,000.00 dollars secured bond.
