Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Sunday January 21, 2018 a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office in reference to possible sexual assaults involving an 11 year old victim.  The child said the abuse happened between July and December 2017 at the suspect’s home.

The case was assigned to Detective Sergeant Katie Harwell of the Special Victims Unit for further investigation. During the course of the investigation the victim was interviewed at the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center. The victim identified Daniel Jackie Greene as the suspect in these cases.

Based on interviews and statements gathered so far in this investigation, investigators were able to obtain multiple felony warrants on Daniel Jackie Greene.  Greene was arrested on Friday January 26, 2018.

Greene was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where the following felony arrest warrants were served on him: Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child, Felony First Degree Statutory Sex Offense on Minor by an Adult, Felony Statutory Rape of Child by an Adult, and Felony First Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Greene received a 200,000.00 secured bond from Magistrate Daniel Chambers.

On Monday January 29, 2018 Greene received additional felony warrants for two counts of First Degree Statutory Sex Offense on a Minor by an Adult and two counts of Felony Statutory Rape of a Child by an Adult and received an additional 50,000.00 dollars secured bond by Magistrate Daniel Chambers.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated to be filed in the future. Greene’s prior convictions are Possession of Marijuana up to ½ oz. and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
