Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: A month long investigation into several home break-ins was concluded when two brothers were charged with multiple felony charges.

On Tuesday December 12, 2017, Deputies responded to the residence of 142 Northfield Drive in reference to a breaking and entering. When they arrived on scene, they located minimal signs of forced entry to the home. There was very little evidence left behind by the suspects, who removed approximately $15,000.00 dollars’ worth of jewelry and other items of value belonging to the homeowners.

Deputies were called to homes located at 190 and 216 Loggerhead Road on Wednesday January 10, 2018. Both residences had been broken into in a similar manner and had several items stolen from each.

A residence at 140 Darty Lane was broken into on Thursday January 11, 2018. Detectives were able to locate a Milwaukee hammer drill which belonged to the victim at 140 Darty Lane at a local pawn shop. Further evidence located led detectives to obtain multiple felony warrants on two suspects, Wesley and Ashley Pope.

Deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Squad were able to apprehend Ashley Michael Pope without issue on Friday January 19, 2018. Ashley Pope was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with four warrants of felony breaking and entering and four warrants for felony larceny after breaking and entering, and given a $25,500.00 secured bond by Magistrate Diane Saunders.

Wesley Nathaniel Pope was also arrested on Friday January 19, 2018 by officers with the City of Conover Police Department on a misdemeanor larceny investigation. Wesley Pope was taken before a Catawba County Magistrate on the following warrants; four counts of felony breaking and entering, four counts of larceny after breaking and entering and one count of obtaining property by false pretense. Wesley Pope was issued an $180,000.00 secured bond on the Iredell County warrants and an additional $500.00 secured bond on Conover Police Charges.
