Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: A suspicious vehicle report on Monday January 22, 2018 lead to multiple felony drug charges near Mooresville.
Deputies were called to investigate suspicious vehicles near the boat docks on Old Post Road in The Point off of Brawley School Road. Upon arriving in the area, deputies located a black van parked in the cul-de-sac near the boats. While checking the docks and boats, deputies located Robert Taylor Moore. When asked what he was doing on the boat docks Moore admitted to being on the boat docks smoking marijuana with his friend Christopher Werner.
Deputies attempted to locate Werner and discovered he had jumped into the water to hide when the deputies arrived. A search of the area was made and deputies saw a male coming out of the water. When asked for his identity, the man said Christopher Werner. Iredell County EMS was called to check on the man who was extremely cold.
A search of the van located a large package of marijuana weighing 12.5 ounces with an estimated street value of 6800.00 dollar, and numerous smaller baggies consistent with packaging marijuana for sale. Robert Taylor Moore was cited for Possession of Marijuana.
Christopher James Werner was arrested and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with the following charges: Felony Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule VI Controlled Substance (Marijuana), Felony Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of Schedule VI (Marijuana), and Resisting a Public Officer. Magistrate Steve Nicholson issued Werner a 4000.00 dollar secured bond.
