Sheriff Darren E. Campbell stated:  The first round of arrests in “Operation Southbound” occurred late last week. These arrests stem from information which was gathered by Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators over the last several months from tips received from social media, emails and discussions with community members.

This operation is targeting individuals selling illegal drugs in the City of Mooresville as well as surrounding areas of the city.

Narcotics Investigators have conducted hundreds of hours of surveillance gathering information on suspects. Based on this information along with other investigative aids they were able to make undercover purchases of various types of illegal drugs. More arrests are anticipated in this operation as it is ongoing.
