Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a home owner on Amity Hill Road who stated he had just arrived home and saw a white male come out of his outbuilding located behind his house. The victim called 911 and was able to provide a good description and the direction the suspect when he left.
Deputies arrived and quickly located the suspect on I-77 near exit 45. The suspect admitted that he had been in the shed and claimed he was trying to locate gas because he had ran out but when deputies located his vehicle the gas hand showed a quarter of a tank.
The suspect was arrested and charged with Felony Breaking and Entering and Communicating Threats. The communicating threats charge stems from comments the suspect made at the time of his arrest. Habdas received a $10,000.00 dollar secured bond on the charge of Felony Breaking and Entering, and Communicating Threats and has a pending court date in Statesville.
