Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on 10/03/2017, Deputies with the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team (ACE) received information that three males were in the area of East Front Street Statesville possibly attempting to break into vehicles. Sgt. R. Sherrill responded to the area and located the three males matching the description given by the caller.

Sgt. Sherrill spoke with the individuals and after further investigation found Kieyon Kesean Murdock 17 years old of 935 Connor Street Statesville to be in possession of a stolen firearm and marijuana. Murdock was also found to have an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear on an Assault and Battery charge.

Murdock was arrested and charged with Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Gun, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Murdock was taken before and Iredell County Magistrate where he received an $8,500 secured bond.
