Sheriff Darren Campbell stated, that on July 29, 2017 at approximately 2:05pm. Deputies D.S. Hall, H. Bath, and Lieutenant B. Marshall responded to 143 Mason Dixon Ln. in reference to a female with a knife and a male subject trying to run a person over with a vehicle. Deputies arrived and took control of the scene and began their investigation. It was determined that there was no assault involving a motor vehicle. Deputies did determine that Kristy Nicole Hastings did attempt to attack her brother with a knife. Kristy Nicole Hastings was arrested for assault w/ a deadly weapon. Deputy Bath searched Kristy Nicole incident to arrest and located a plastic bag that contained a quantity of methamphetamine. During the investigation a plastic bag of powder cocaine was also located. After, further investigation it was determined that Eddie Ming Vang was the owner of the powder cocaine.

Kristy Nicole Hasting was transported to the Iredell County Detention and taken before Magistrate S. Nicholson. Kristy Nicole Hastings was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of Methamphetamine, she received a $2,500.00 bond and is awaiting trial.

Kristy Hastings has a prior history of breaking and entering, larceny, and drug charges.

Eddie Ming Vang was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center and taken before Magistrate S. Nicholson. Eddie Ming Vang was charged with Possession of Cocaine and he received a $1,000.00 bond and is awaiting trial.
