Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on July 24, 2017, Deputy John Adams of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit attempted to locate and verify an address on a registered sex offender, William Farmer. Deputy Adams made several attempts to locate Mr. Farmer at his registered address but was unable to locate him. During the investigation Deputy Adams was able to talk with witnesses and learned that Mr. Farmer was staying in Virginia with family and also working in Ashe County. Mr. Farmer failed to notify the Sheriff’s Office that he was living out of state and therefore Deputy Adams took a warrant for his arrest.
Mr. Farmer was arrested on July 26, 2017and charged for failing to notify address change to the Sheriff Office, he received a $10,000.00 secured bond.
Prior convictions include: DWI, Simple Possession Schedule VI, and Indecent Liberties with a Child.
