Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On April 24, 2015 Det. Sgt. C.M. Benfield with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit received a report of the possible sexual abuse of a 7 year old child by a family member. The abuse occurred during October – December 2014. As a result of these allegations, Prickler was arrested on May 27, 2015 for 12 counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child and 12 counts of First Degree Sex Offense with a Child under 12. At that time he was placed under a $200,000 bond and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center.
Upon further investigation, detectives found evidence that led to additional charges. Prickler was found to be in possession of child pornography. Due to this new evidence, detectives added the additional charges of 5 counts of Third Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Prickler was placed under an additional $400,000 and is currently being held in the Iredell County Detention Center under $600,000 total bond.
