Sheriff Darren E. Campbell stated: Two suspects have been arrested in conjunction with a month’s long investigation into the sale of methamphetamine in the West Iredell area of Iredell County, this investigation is being conducted by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.

Angela Kelso McCollum and Scottie Eugene Hopkins were being investigated for possessing and selling methamphetamine when Hopkins was arrested on unrelated charges.  While in the Iredell County Detention Center, Scottie Hopkins was mailed a letter by Angela McCollum.

When investigators intercepted the letter they examined the letter and envelop and found enclosed in the envelop were small pieces of a Suboxone strip which had been hidden inside the envelop.

Angela Kelso McCollum was served with two felony warrants, Felony Possession of Schedule II Methamphetamine and Felony Conspire to Sell and Deliver Schedule III Controlled Substance in a Detention Center bond was set at 15,000.00 dollars secured bond.

Scottie Eugene Hopkins was served with a Felony Conspire to Sell and Deliver Schedule III Controlled Substance in a Detention Center. His bond was set at 10,000.00 dollars secured bond on this charge.
