[ARCHIVED] Vehicle stop by deputy ends with two in custody for felony drug trafficking charges.

Iredell County Sheriff Darren E. Campbell stated: A traffic stop conducted by members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team on Tuesday October 25, 2016 led to the largest seizure of Oxycotin pills in Iredell County Sheriff’s Office history.
Two men traveling South on Interstate 77 in a Land Rover were stopped by deputies with the ICE Team for traffic violations. While speaking with the men, deputies asked to see the vehicle registration. When Anthony Prettyman retrieved the paperwork from the glovebox, a bag of marijuana was noticed by one of the deputies. Based on the bag of marijuana being seen a search of the vehicle was conducted. A “false bottom” paint can was discovered and inside the can were 5330 Oxycotin 30 milligram pills valued at approximately $160,000. Also while searching the vehicle another half-ounce of marijuana was located in a Nike shoebox.
Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators along with Special Agents of the Department of Homeland Security in Charlotte are working further on this case.
Investigators seized the 2009 Land Rover and over 2000.00 dollars in cash.
Anthony Jaron Prettyman and Cory Michael Laurenson both of New York, were taken to the Iredell County Detention Center and charged with one Felony Count each of Trafficking in Schedule II Controlled Substance by Possession, Maintain a Vehicle for the Transport of Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana.
Both received a $2,000,000.00 dollar secured bond.
