Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that on 10-7-16 a call was received by the sheriff’s office in reference to a possible shoplifting in progress at the Food Lion on Turnersburg Hwy. The caller was able to provide a description of the two suspects, as well as, their vehicle description. Lt. C.L. Stone and Sgt. R.T. Sherrill arrived in the area and observed both suspects leaving the parking lot in a 1999 Jeep Cherokee with a revoked registration plate displayed. The deputy’s conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Shannon G. Fox, 45, of Statesville and his passenger, Kimberly D. Dagenhart, 39, of Statesville. Dagenhart admitted to having just stolen two packs of steak from the Food Lion. Fox only admitted to having stolen a pack of cheese. After further investigation the deputy’s discovered that the two suspects had been to two other Food Lion stores in the area and stole packages of meat from there as well. All of the meat valued at $183.94 was returned to the stores. Fox was charged with 2 counts of larceny and Dagenhart was charged with 1 count of larceny. Both suspects are already convicted felons.
