Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on 07/14/2016 Deputy David Price of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit was contacted by Detective Lt. Brian Boyd about Mr. Kevin Turner, a registered sex offender. Lt. Boyd advised Deputy Price he had spoken to a subject about a separate incident in which Mr. Turner was involved. Lt. Boyd learned Mr. Turner was a registered sex offender and notified Deputy Price about the possibility Mr. Turner may not be living where he was registered at. Deputy Price began an investigation into Mr. Turner’s whereabouts and was able to determine he was indeed living at 111 Branch Dr. and had not reported his change of address, which he is required to do within three business days. Since Mr. Turner was in violation of the North Carolina Sex Offender Law Deputy Price charged him with failing to notify change of address. Mr. Turner is on the sex offender registry for a 2001 conviction of Indecent Liberties with a Child. On 09/16/2016 Deputy Price located and arrested Mr. Turner, he was taken before Magistrate Sanders and given a $10,000.00 secured bond and is being detained at the Iredell County Detention Center until such time as bond is made or justice has been satisfied in regards to this case.
Turner has prior convictions of DWLR, Fail to Register as Sex Offender, DWI, Trespassing, Possession with intent to Sell and Deliver, and Unlawful Burning.
