Sheriff Darren Campbell stated
On September 16, 2016 Deputies and along with Detectives responded to a residence on Whippoorwill Rd in reference to a report of a breaking and entering in progress. The homeowners of the residence returned home to find the doors to their residence open and a vehicle backed up to the garage. A female identified as Breanna Pupp-Oliver of Mooresville was on scene.
As Deputies and Detectives arrived on scene and began speaking with Breanna, items belonging to the homeowners were located in the vehicle. While speaking with Breanna, a white male identified as Charles Penninger of Charlotte walked up and stated that he had been called by Breanna to come to the residence. As the investigation continued it was determined that Charles had ran out of the residence once the homeowners arrived on scene. Both subjects were detained at that time and a canvas was started to locate any further property that had been taken. Several items that were taken from the residence were located behind a shed next door to the residence. All of the items were collected and returned to the owner except one box of jewelry that had been thrown in the lake according to Charles.
Charles and Breanna were arrested and then charged with Break or Enter of a residence, larceny after breaking and entering, and aid and abet felony larceny. Both subjects were confined in the Iredell county Detention center with Charles having a $12,000 dollar bond and Breanna having a $2,000 dollar bond. A check of both subjects history shows that they have numerous charges for breaking and entering along with several other charges.
