Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on August 19, 2016 Deputy Craig Bess received information that a registered sex offender, Timothy Wayne Easterling, 27, was no longer living at his registered address of 4331 Taylorsville Hwy Statesville, N.C. 28625. Registered sex offenders are required to report any change of address within 3 days of moving to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. During his investigation, Deputy Bess determined that Easterling was only visiting his registered address a few days a month and was living at other locations for the majority of the time. Bess obtained a warrant for Easterling for failing to notify his change of address as required.
Members of the Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement team located Easterling at 1408 Melviney St. Statesville, N.C. 28677. Easterling was arrested without incident and was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $20,000.00 secured bond for failing to notify change of address and an additional $10,000.00 secured bond for probation violation, and a “NO BOND” for parole violation.
Easterling is on the Iredell County Sex Offender Registry for a 2013 conviction in Iredell County of Kidnapping and Indecent Liberties with a Minor.
