[ARCHIVED] Here we go again, another repeat offender arrested for selling narcotics

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: A two month undercover investigation into the sale and distribution of powder cocaine in the Southern portion of Iredell County was concluded on Friday August 5, 2016 when a search warrant was executed at 117 Vandenbrook Lane in Mooresville, by members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigation Unit along with members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office SERT Team.

The investigation began when narcotics investigators gathered information about the suspect, Sedrick Markies Barnes, selling cocaine and marijuana in the Highway 150, 152 area of Mooresville. Surveillance operations were established and investigators witnessed Barnes selling cocaine. Multiple undercover purchases were made from Barnes over two months. In all, over five ounces of cocaine were purchased directly from the suspect during the investigation.

When the search warrant was served, investigators located over 5200.00 dollars as well as cocaine, marijuana and various items of paraphernalia in the home consistent with the sale of these drugs.

Sedrick Markies Barnes was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with 10 felony warrants to include: Four Counts of Felony Trafficking in Cocaine, Three Counts of Felony Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Two Counts of Felony Sell and Deliver Cocaine and One Count of Felony Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, he was placed under 400,000.00 dollars secured bond.

Barnes has a lengthy criminal drug history to include Three Felony convictions for Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana and Two Felony convictions of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine and is currently on supervised probation. Barnes was out on a 100,000.00 dollars secured bond for drug charges he received on June 21 of this year.
