Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on June 9, 2016, Deputy David Price of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit attempted to verify a valid address for Travis Lamont Davidson, a registered sex offender. Davidson was registered as living at 1015 7th Street, Statesville. After interviewing neighbors and other witnesses at this address, Deputy Price determined that Davidson was not living at his registered address and had not been at this location in weeks. Registered sex offenders are required by law to notify the Sheriff’s Office within three days of an address change, which Davidson did not do. Deputy Price obtained a warrant for Travis Lamont Davidson for one count of Failing to Notify Change of Address.
Davidson was located and arrested on June 12, 2016 and was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $12,000.00 bond.
Davidson was convicted of Attempted Second Degree Rape in Iredell County in 1999. Since his release from the Department of Corrections in 2004, he has been charged and convicted of Sex Offender Registration Violations in Iredell County in 2006, 2009, and 2013, each time serving a sentence in the North Carolina Department of Corrections.
