Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that on Tuesday the 26th day of January a victim on Pear Tree Rd Troutman reported a Larceny of a Firearm from his residence. The victim stated that there did not appear to be any forced entry into the residence, however he was not able to locate his 9mm handgun. The stolen firearm was entered into a national data base as a stolen at that time.
In March 2016 the stolen gun was found in the possession of a known illegal narcotics user and dealer in the county. The gun was seized at that time as Narcotics Detectives continued their investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics.
On Thursday the 2nd day of June Narcotics Detectives made an arrest in connection with buying and selling illegal narcotics. During an interview with the defendant Detectives were able to learn that the suspect had traded less than a gram of heroin for a 9mm hand gun that was reported stolen from Pear Tree Rd Troutman. The person who traded the stolen gun for illegal narcotics was Robin Renea Schell.
During the continued investigation it was learned by Detectives that Schell had recently been in the house located on Pear Tree Rd Troutman. Also, it was learned that Schell was a convicted felon from as far back at 1980 in Texas for Robbery Charge.
An outstanding Warrant has been issued for the arrest of Robin Renea Schell for one count of Larceny of the Firearm and one count of Possession of Firearm by convicted. It is believed that Schell may possibly be in Texas at this time.
