Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On May 16, 2016, Deputy Patrick Irwin along with Sergeant Christopher Smith responded to 419 Barber Loop Mooresville in reference to a domestic violence call. Upon arrival Sergeant Smith spoke with the caller who stated that her boyfriend, Jeffrey Edward Roos, had assaulted her. The victim had multiple signs of assault including two black eyes and a cut to her leg which was still bleeding. The victim stated that Jeffrey had assaulted her before in the past and Deputy Irwin was able to locate an active warrant for Mr. Roos for assault of a female involving the same victim that occurred in December of 2015. Deputy Irwin was also able to locate two active order for arrests for Mr. Roos out of Mecklenburg County. When Sergeant Smith asked where Jeffrey was, the victim stated that he was inside the house. Deputy Irwin and Sergeant Smith then conducted a search of the house but were unable to locate Mr. Roos inside. While searching around the house, Sergeant Smith noticed a crawl space underneath the house and when Sergeant Smith looked inside he saw Mr. Roos hiding underneath the house. Sergeant Smith then ordered Mr. Roos to come out from underneath the home and he did without incident. The female victim was then transported by Iredell County EMS to the hospital for her injuries and Mr. Roos was placed under arrest for assault on a female. Deputy Irwin then transported Mr. Roos to the Iredell County Jail and he was brought before a Magistrate had was held overnight with no bond. Mr. Roos also was served with the active warrant along with the two order for arrests out of Mecklenburg which he received a $1,000.00 secure bond.
