Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that on Friday, April 15, 2016, Deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a domestic violence call between the parents and son located at 311 Fletcher Rd. Union, Grove, NC. While Deputies were responding they received information that the son, Timothy Krieger, had been shot at the residence during a struggle with his father over a firearm. Krieger then fled the residence into an outbuilding where he fired two additional shots. Just prior to Deputies arriving on scene the parents reported that Krieger had fled on foot into the woods behind the residence. Deputies sent out a reverse 911 page to alert residents about this incident and asked for everyone to be on the lookout for Krieger. Deputies received calls from citizens who alerted them to Krieger’s location. Krieger was located on Wilkesboro Hwy where he entered an outbuilding where he located a shirt and a weed eater. When Deputies approached Krieger he was in a back yard attempting to use a weed eater. Krieger was transported by Iredell County EMS to receive medical attention. Currently, there are outstanding warrants on Timothy Krieger for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Firearm by Felon, Simple Assault, Felony Breaking and Entering, and Larceny after Breaking and Entering. These warrants will be served after the suspect is medically cleared.
Timothy Krieger in the past has been arrested and convicted of Felony Flee/Elude Arrest with a Motor Vehicle in 2007. In 2011, Krieger was again arrested and convicted of Felony Flee/Elude Arrest with a Motor Vehicle and DWI. Krieger did not have any pending charges at the time of the incident.
