Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that on 03/26/2016 Deputy Justin Betts responded to 159 Cornelius Rd. for a larceny. When Deputy Betts arrived he learned that the residence and a vehicle at the residence had been entered. A possible suspect was identified as Christopher Baker an ex-boyfriend, due to neighbors due to neighbors seeing a vehicle fitting his description, along with text he sent to the victim that he was at her house. Deputy Betts spoke with Christopher Baker who agreed to speak with the deputies. Deputy Betts informed Deputies B. Owens and C. Gregory of the suspect Christopher Bake. Deputies went to Mr. Baker’s residence and after speaking with him and receiving consent to search Deputies located a stolen medication bottle with the victim’s name on it. Deputy Betts took out warrants for Mr. Baker for Felony Breaking and entering a residence with larceny after the fact, breaking and entering a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny. After getting the warrants, Deputy Betts went to Mr. Baker residence and placed him under arrest. Mr. Baker was then transported to the Iredell County Magistrate’s Office where he received a $10,000 secured bond and was placed in Iredell County Detention Center.
