[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested for breaking & entering into motor vehicle and larceny of a firearm at fire dept.

Suspect(s): Johnny Laquinton Bing, B/M, Date of Birth 10/03/1989, of 2627 Engle Hard Street Charlotte, NC 28216
Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on March 4th 2016 Johnny Laquinton Bing was criminally charged in Iredell County with (1) count of Breaking & Entering to a Motor Vehicle and (1) count of Larceny of a Firearm. Bing is the suspect in numerous vehicle break-ins spanning across at least four Counties at this time.
On February the 17th 2016 Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a Breaking & Entering to a Motor Vehicle, and Larceny of a Firearm at 1577 Mecklenburg Hwy Mooresville, NC at the Mt Mourne Fire Department. The victim was a Fire Fighter serving at Mt Mourne Fire Department, and he stated that someone broke into his vehicle while he was asleep inside the Fire Station. The victim stated that someone stole a Firearm that he had secured inside his vehicle. Deputies canvased the neighborhood and attempted to locate any security video footage that may be available, but no leads were developed at the time the incident was reported.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office were assigned to investigate the case at that time. Detectives learned during the investigation that Fire Fighters in Charlotte, Kannapolis, and China Grove had also reported that their vehicles had been broken into while they were working at the Fire Stations. The Fire Fighters reported that items were also stolen from inside their vehicles as well. The suspect in most of the break-ins gained entry into the secured vehicles by breaking out a window in the vehicle. Detectives with the Iredell County Sheriff’s began working alongside Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Detectives sharing information. Detectives were able to develop leads in these cases, and it was learned that a possible suspect was Johnny Laquinton Bing. At that time multiple Law Enforcement Agencies began looking for Johnny Bing and the vehicle that he had been seen driving.
Johnny Bing was first arrested by Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Detectives. At the time of his arrest, evidence and stolen property were recovered from the vehicle that Bing was driving.
This investigation is an example of several Law Enforcement Agencies from different Counties working together in a group effort to fight criminal activity. Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Detectives were the lead Investigators in these cases. The Fire Fighters that were victims in these incidents were members of Fire Departments in several Counties including: Rowan County, Guilford County, Iredell County, and Rock Hill South Carolina. Bing has been charged with numerous Felony Charges in reference to these crimes.
Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that Johnny Laquinton Bing was criminally charged in Iredell County in reference to (1) Count of Breaking & Entering to a Motor Vehicle, and (1) Count of Larceny of a Firearm. Johnny Bing was taken before Magistrate D B Chambers on March 4th 2016 where he was given a $25,000.00 Secured Bond. Johnny Bing appeared in court for his First Appearance on Monday the 7th Day of March 2016.
