Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on January 16th 2016 a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office in reference to an 8 year old child who had been sexual assaulted by an acquaintance. The case was assigned to Detective Sgt. Jason Lowrance with the Special Victim’s Unit for further investigation. The victim was interviewed by the Dove House Advocacy Center. Numerous witnesses were located and interviewed from which supporting information was gained. The investigation revealed the incidents were stretched out over approximately a year and eight months. As a result of the investigation, Donald Wilson was charged with six counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child. Wilson was arrested on February 5, 2016 and presented to the Magistrate. Wilson was given a $15,000.00 secure bond and given a court date which will be February 8, 2016.
